Plasmonic Nanomaterials for Colorimetric Biosensing: A Review

چکیده

In the last few decades, plasmonic colorimetric biosensors raised increasing interest in bioanalytics thanks to their cost-effectiveness, responsiveness, and simplicity as compared conventional laboratory techniques. Potential high-throughput screening easy-to-use assay procedures make them also suitable for realizing point of care devices. Nevertheless, several challenges such fabrication complexity, laborious biofunctionalization, poor sensitivity compromise technological transfer from research laboratories industry and, hence, still hamper adoption on large-scale. However, newly-developing boast impressive sensing performance terms sensitivity, dynamic range, limit detection, reliability, specificity thereby continuously encouraging further researches. this review, recently reported are discussed with a focus following categories: (i) on-platform-based (localized surface plasmon resonance, coupled resonance lattice resonance); (ii) colloid aggregation-based (label-based label free); (iii) non-aggregation-based (nanozyme, etching-based growth-based).
